Orientational estimate, not an offer. Actual savings depend on the specific projector model, your electricity tariff and how the auditorium operates.

Want the result?

Download a PDF report with your inputs and result, or have the calculation checked by one of our engineers.

A laser light source replaces the xenon lamp, a consumable part with a limited lifetime that needs regular replacement.

The calculator compares the yearly operating cost of a xenon and a laser light source based on parameters you set yourself.

All inputs are orientational and adjustable, the result is a first estimate, not an offer.

How it works

  1. Set up your auditorium

Enter the weekly screening hours and the electricity price at your site.

  2. Describe the current xenon source

Enter your projector's power draw, lamp lifetime and lamp price.

  3. Set the laser saving estimate

Use the slider to adjust the conservative laser power saving estimate (30 to 70 percent).

  4. Read the result

The calculator computes yearly xenon and laser cost, plus the saving per year and over 10 years.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an exact quote?
No. It is an orientational estimate based on the values you enter, not a price quote from XC tech.
Where does the 50 percent power saving come from?
It is a conservative default estimate you can adjust with the slider between 30 and 70 percent depending on the specific projector model.
Does the calculator include the upgrade cost?
No, the calculator only compares operating cost (energy and lamps). We prepare a price for a specific solution on request.
What is LLU?
LLU (Laser Light Upgrade) replaces the light source of a Barco Series 2 xenon projector with a laser module, without replacing the whole projector.
When is a new laser projector a better fit than LLU?
If the existing projector is an older generation or is no longer supported for LLU, a new Series 4 projector may be a better fit. We can discuss this based on your parameters.
