The Barco mFusion ICMP-XS and the Barco Smart Amplifier are two new products that push cinema technology another step forward. Barco unveiled them at CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas, expanding its portfolio with a more powerful, faster and more efficient solution for modern cinema operations.
Both devices were designed to work seamlessly with Barco Series 4 projectors. They offer unified control, powerful content processing and first-class immersive sound, all in one connected system.
Barco mFusion ICMP-XS: more than just a media server
The new mFusion ICMP-XS builds on the previous Barco Alchemy generation but brings completely redesigned hardware and features. It combines a media server, a streaming device and an audio processor. It can play, record and stream content simultaneously, up to 5 times faster than before.
It supports 5.1 / 7.1 surround sound as well as advanced immersive audio formats (IAB - Immersive Audio Bitstream). The new interface, inspired by the Series 4 projectors, simplifies operation and boosts operational efficiency.
Barco Smart Amplifier: a smart amplifier for modern cinemas
Alongside the new server, Barco also introduced the Barco Smart Amplifier, an amplifier designed to perfectly complement the image from laser projection with high-quality, dynamic sound. Thanks to its integration with mFusion and the Series 4 projectors, you can control every device from a single interface.
A major advantage is quick replacement with no operational downtime (hot-swappable) and easy installation. That makes the amplifier an ideal choice for cinemas that want reliable performance and minimal downtime.
A unified interface and a focus on sustainability
Barco is betting on unified control: the entire system can be managed from one place, whether via a computer, a phone or the touchscreen on the projector.
The whole "Laser by Barco" line is also built with sustainability in mind: the devices are modular, use less material and are designed with long-term operation and recyclability in mind.
