Cinema Monitoring - remote oversight of projection technology
Running a digital cinema generates a continuous stream of technical data. The projector, the cinema server, the audio processor, the network infrastructure, the backup power supplies: every device continuously reports hundreds of parameters. Temperatures, voltages, fan speeds, laser light source output, RAID array status, operating hours, error registers, firmware versions. Monitoring projection technology is an area where most cinemas have a blind spot. XC TECH does not.
A platform for monitoring projection technology
XC TECH operates its own platform for remote monitoring of projection technology and device management. Every cinema we have installed sends data to a central system in real time. The projector, the cinema server, the Synology NAS, the audio processor: we see the status of every device in one place, around the clock.
The system distinguishes between families of devices and applies a specific set of monitored values to each one. On Barco Series 4 laser projectors, we track the laser source output, the temperature profiles of the light engine and the status of internal subsystems. The intervals depend on how critical a parameter is, ranging from two minutes to 24 hours. On cinema servers, we monitor the RAID array status down to the individual disk, along with the playback session, including the title and position. We also watch license status and software versions.
Predictive service instead of firefighting
The data you collect only has value if you can draw timely conclusions from it. The platform continuously evaluates trends and correlations across devices. A combination of temperature drift, a drop in laser source output and a change in the error register can signal a specific fault days or weeks in advance. Operating hours and historical data tell us, to the day, when it is time for a service intervention or the replacement of a consumable part. We plan ahead, not in hindsight.
Automatic lifecycle tracking
We automatically log every installation, component replacement, firmware update and service intervention. The system keeps a complete history of every device: serial numbers, firmware versions, operating hours, fault records and their resolution. No manual records, no spreadsheets.
Part of every installation
We automatically connect cinemas under a service contract or within warranty to the XC TECH platform. It continuously monitors the technical condition of the delivered equipment. We report every fault or anomaly to the dispatch center immediately, whether it is a lamp nearing the end of its life, a low cinema server battery, a high temperature or a fault in the RAID storage.
