Barco has launched the global Series 4 SONY Replacement Promotion: cinemas replacing their existing Sony digital cinema projector with a Barco Series 4 laser projector get one of two added-value benefits. The promotion applies to eligible orders received between April 13 and September 30, 2026 through authorised Barco partners, with delivery and invoicing by December 31, 2026.
Option A: a 7-year warranty instead of three
Selected Series 4 configurations come with an extended 7-year warranty instead of the standard 3 years - 4 extra years at no additional cost. The offer covers these SP4K series models (configured with the mFusion ICMP-XS cinema server, a standard lens and 4TB RAID5 storage):
- SP4K-12C
- SP4K-15C
- SP4K-20C
- SP4K-25C
Option B: High Contrast for the price of standard 4K
The second option is a performance upgrade: a High Contrast lens configuration for the price of the standard 4K setup one tier below:
- SP4K-15C with an HC lens for the price of an SP4K-12C with a standard lens
- SP4K-20C with an HC lens for the price of an SP4K-15C with a standard lens
- SP4K-25C with an HC lens for the price of an SP4K-20C with a standard lens
Important: the HC (B-series) lens has a different throw ratio on a C chip than the standard lens, so suitability for the specific auditorium must be verified in advance - we do that as part of our system design, and you can get a first estimate with our projection distance calculator. Also allow for an HC lens lead time of roughly 3 months depending on type and availability.
Conditions, and what we handle for you
The two options cannot be combined with each other or with any other discounts, and apply strictly to verified Sony projector replacements. Claiming the promotion requires the venue and auditorium details, the serial number of the replaced Sony projector and photo documentation before the replacement; final eligibility is approved by a Barco account manager.
