Renewal of Projection Technology at the Modry Kriz Cinema

The digitization of the Modry kriz cinema began back in 2010, when a Barco DP2000 (Series 1) projector and a Qube XP-D cinema server were installed in this single-screen cinema in Kutna Hora. After more than a decade in operation, the technology had become unreliable, and a failure of the cinema server's media block in particular made it necessary to modernize the entire system.
A refurbished Barco DP2K-19B digital projector was newly installed in the cinema, offering higher light output and a quality image well suited even to a larger auditorium. At the heart of the whole system is a new Barco Alchemy ICMP-X cinema server, which integrates the player, media block, and control unit in a single device. A new Dolby CP950 audio processor was also deployed, ensuring full compatibility and high reliability.
Later, we supplied a new, high-quality Harkness projection screen as well as a passive polarization-based 3D system, which makes it possible to show 3D films without the need for active glasses.
The modernization also includes a complete automation system that controls the lighting, curtains, sound, and ventilation. As a result, running the cinema is significantly more efficient and more comfortable for the staff.
The Modry kriz cinema is now equipped with technology that meets the most up-to-date DCI standards.
