Sound system upgrade at the Egerie cinema - AuroMax and IAB audio

The Egerie cinema in Klasterec nad Ohri is known for its emphasis on a top-tier audiovisual experience. Following its digitization in 2013, when a Barco DP4K-19B projector, a Qube XP-I cinema server, and an Auro 11.1 surround sound system were installed, the cinema has undergone a significant upgrade of its audio technology.

In 2019, a new Barco APX audio processor was added to the auditorium, replacing the original DATASAT AP24. The new processor makes full use of the modern AuroMax format, which supports the IAB (Immersive Audio Bitstream) standard. This audio format enables advanced object-based sound and substantially improves the spaciousness and pinpoint localization of sound in the auditorium.

The upgrade also added further loudspeakers, including ceiling and side channels, ensuring faithful reproduction of modern film mixes and bringing the Egerie cinema close to the highest standards for an auditorium with immersive sound.

The Barco DP4K-19B projector remains in service, but now works alongside a Barco Alchemy ICMP-X cinema server that was added to the auditorium in earlier years. The combination of a powerful projection system and modern audio technology makes the Egerie cinema one of the best-equipped single-screen cinemas in the Czech Republic.
