Metameric failure
A situation in which two light sources (for example an RGB laser and a laser phosphor projector) reproduce the same color according to a colorimetry system, but an individual does not see it as the same. It is caused by differences between the sources' spectra and by deviations of real observers from the CIE standard observer. Related to metamerism. For DCI projectors it was studied by Ploumis et al. (JSID 2022), see the article Metameric failure: when measurements and the eye judge color differently.
